Dog behaviourist home visits in Leicester

Some problems only happen at home — at the front door, when visitors arrive, or when you leave the room. Jo comes to you, so you build the skills exactly where you need them.

What Jo helps with at home

  • Barking — at the door, the window or visitors
  • Door and gate control, and calm greetings
  • Over-excitement and jumping up
  • Guarding food, toys or furniture
  • Nervous or anxious behaviour, and settling a new rescue
  • Behaviour around children and babies
  • Chewing, destruction and house training an older dog

How a home visit works

Jo builds up a picture of your dog — their history, their triggers and how your home works — and finds the root cause, not just the symptom. Then she shows you, hands-on, what to change and how.

You’re left with a practical plan you can actually live with. In around 95% of cases, one visit is all it takes. Behaviour problems can be complex, though, so if a follow-up would help, Jo will tell you honestly.

Tip: before the visit, jot down when the problem happens, what sets it off and what you’ve tried. It helps Jo get straight to the point.

Kate Ward · Home & outdoor training
“At the end of our tether and considering rehoming, I contacted Jo as a last resort. In just one session she showed us how to deal with Asher — four weeks on, he’s like a different dog. We now have a calmer life.”
Emma Ward · Asher & Lottie, Wheaten Terriers
“Jo has been awesome in helping my dog, Lottie! She’s straight to the point and very easy to talk to. I’m mad at myself for not going to her sooner.”
